Tim Rawlinson’s arresting glass art is an important and inspiring feature in our studio. We are one of just two stockists of Tim’s exquisite handblown glass in London, showcasing a curated selection of pieces that interact with and complement our Vibrant Contemporary Rugs.
We held a brilliant exhibition with Tim last year, called ‘Exploring Transparency’, where Tim and Sonya worked together exploring and pushing the boundaries of colour, light and transparency in hand woven rugs and hand blown glass. This amazingly creative collaboration explored the art of handblown glass and resulted in two new rug designs – Echoes of Light Green and Echoes of Light Purple, a reflection of Tim’s Echoes of Light glass art series.
You can purchase the Echoes of Light rugs and Tim’s pieces in our London Showroom. We have recently added to our collection of Tim’s contemporary glass art several exciting new pieces, including the colourful cubic Nebula, which is a mesmerising glass cube of colour and mystery, and the vibrant Light Wave.
You can buy Tim’s glass art by visiting our London Showroom. You can also order them via our contact form or phone and we will ship them to wherever you are – we ship worldwide via door-to-door delivery services. View and download the price list here*
The Story of Tim Rawlinson’s Glass Art
Tim Rawlinson was born in Bristol in 1985. He studied Ceramics and glass at Bucks New University, graduating in 2011. He exhibited his degree work that year at New Designers in London where he met Peter Layton. Peter invited Tim to do work experience at London Glassblowing, and following this Tim became a member of the team there.
Tim’s work has been prominent in the Gallery at London Glassblowing for the past two years featuring in Past and Present in 2012, Coalesce in 2013 and Vetro in 2014. His work was also shown at Collect 2014 and 2015, where it was received with huge acclaim, and again, most recently during Collect 2019.
Tim has created his own language in glass through cut and polished sculptural pieces that focus on the interaction between light and glass. This has led to Tim’s inclusion in Europe’s most prestigious exhibition, ‘The Coburg Glass Prize’ in Germany in 2014 and the International Glass Prize at the GlazenHuis in Belgium 2015.
