The York Rise Street Festival is an annual event that takes place on our street at the start of September and celebrates the spirit of our community. The festival is not for profit and it is organised and run by volunteers. This year is its 10th anniversary and we look forward to wonderful things!
What to expect?
York Rise Street Festival is all about bringing the people living on and around the street together to enjoy a beautiful day out with music, arts, crafts and design, talks and discussions on topics that are relevant for the community, games and competitions and an amazing selection of local food and drinks. It’s a fantastic day out for families and kids.
Who will be there?
Everyone!
There will be commercial and community stalls by local organisations and businesses, which provides an excellent opportunity to meet local creatives, makers and retailers and discover what the area has to offer. You can purchase beautiful little things, handmade by local people, or look for a kids dress or a cashmere jumper bargain. Then there’s the great selection of food and drinks. Two of our local cafes will take their specialties out into the street: The Truffles Deli and the Bold Cafe.
What else?
If spending the entire day on the same street is not exactly your thing, you can have a quick peek and then there is plenty more to do in the area. Hampstead Heath is just minutes away and you can either enjoy a peaceful stroll in the park, or check their event calendar for a great selection of fun events for both adults and children and your fun-loving dogs.
What will Sonya Winner Studio be doing?
We will be part of this year’s festival with both outside and and inside activities – so whether there’s sunshine or rain, we’re ready. We will have a stall outside our studio, displaying our rugs and cushions. Inside the studio, located opposite the Truffles Deli, we are looking forward to welcoming you with cheese, wine, nibbles and giving you a sneak preview of our latest rug designs, which will be officially launched the following week at London Design Festival. You can also see new ceramic work from Alice Rose, Glass pieces from Tim Rawlinson and new jewellery from our 3 different designers. If you’re stopping by we have a very special offer on designer pieces of a 10% discount for purchases on the day!
We would love to welcome you in a homely environment, with a glass of wine, freshly ground coffee and artisanal nibbles. Viewing by appointment is recommended to ensure that we are available to give you our full attention.
