One such artist is Lauren Super, a contemporary British multidisciplinary artist whose paintings and sculptures explore the fascinating relationship between nature, identity and modern digital culture.
Working across oil painting, resin sculpture, glass, ceramic and hand-carved limestone, Lauren creates richly symbolic artworks that are as visually captivating as they are thought-provoking. Each collection explores the balance between natural beauty and the increasingly filtered lives we lead, asking us to pause and consider the impact of social media, consumer culture and technology on our relationships and sense of self.
Contemporary Art Inspired by Nature
Nature lies at the heart of Lauren’s artistic practice. Inspired by the vibrant colours and extraordinary light of Cape Town, her expressive botanical paintings and sunset landscapes celebrate flowers, skies and natural forms. Created during a difficult period in her life, these paintings became both an act of mindfulness and a reminder of the restorative power of the natural world.
Richly layered with colour and atmosphere, these contemporary oil paintings offer a quiet sense of optimism and balance that contrasts beautifully with the more conceptual themes explored throughout the rest of her work.

Exploring Identity Through Contemporary Sculpture
Alongside her paintings, Lauren creates contemporary sculptures that examine how technology shapes identity, childhood and modern life.
As both a former actress and singer, and now a mother of two, Lauren brings a deeply personal perspective to the masks we wear, both in everyday life and online. Works such as Seed, a hand-carved limestone sculpture, and Unfiltered, a spinning glass sculpture, invite viewers to reflect on motherhood, social media and the experience of growing up in an always-connected world.

Fish as a Symbol Throughout Lauren’s Work
Fish are a recurring motif throughout Lauren’s work, becoming powerful symbols of identity, consumption and the influence of modern culture.
This is perhaps best seen in her resin sculpture trilogy, Analogy, Dopamine and Euphoria. Each sculpture explores a different aspect of contemporary consumption: Analogy is filled with Lucky Charms cereal, Dopamine with medicine and cosmetics, while Euphoria represents the fleeting golden high we continually pursue. Together, the trilogy reflects on instant gratification, consumerism and the search for substance in an increasingly superficial world.
An Exclusive Collaboration with Sonya Winner Studio
We are thrilled that Lauren has expanded this exploration further through a collaboration with Sonya Winner Studio, creating an exclusive series of resin fish sculptures inspired by Sonya Winner’s colourful Fishes in Greece rug design. Bringing together Lauren’s sculptural language with Sonya’s vibrant interpretation of Mediterranean marine life, the collaboration celebrates a shared love of colour, storytelling and craftsmanship while demonstrating how contemporary art and contemporary design can inspire one another.
Displayed alongside our handmade rugs, these new resin sculptures create a fascinating dialogue between contemporary art, craftsmanship and design.
